Hobbies & Travel

My technical career is built on a foundation of musical discipline. I started playing brass instruments in 2010, but found my stride on the marching field. I dedicated five seasons to the Pride of Dayton marching band on mellophone and have marched in the local Holiday at Home parade eight times. The relentless focus on timing, teamwork, and execution required on the field directly translates to how I architect systems today.

Travel is another passion of mine. In the US, I have hiked Yosemite, Crater Lake, and Yellowstone, visited Lake Huron and Niagara Falls, and traveled the East Coast from Boston down to Fort Myers. My travels also took me overseas to Switzerland, Germany, and Austria in 2017, followed by a semester living in Maynooth, Ireland. I loved it there enough to return in 2022 so I could march in the Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade with the Pride of Dayton.
