While I consider computers and tech to be my main hobby, my first love was music. Over the years I've enjoyed listening to a variety of music as well as creating it — I've played several different brass instruments since my start in 2010, including the trumpet, french horn, and mellophone. While I've enjoyed playing in concert bands and wind ensembles, marching band and pep band have always been my real passion. I love the ability of these groups to play songs from a wide range of genres and get a crowd up on their feet. I've played at football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer games — not to mention a dozen or so parades. In 2022, I had the privilege of concluding my marching career with the Pride of Dayton in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland.
In addition to music, I also love traveling and seeing the world. I was lucky enough to travel with family as a kid, and I've been to a lot of cool places in the US and abroad. I love taking in the sights, tastes, and cultures of a new environment. In the US I've been to parts of New England, the Pacific Northwest, the Rocky Mountains, California, Texas, Florida, and the Midwest. In 2017 I visited Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. Two years later I returned to Europe to study for a semester abroad in Maynooth, Ireland. My time exploring Ireland was amazing, and I loved living there. Returning in 2022 with all my friends in the Pride of Dayton was a dream come true. Next I'd like to check out Scandinavia or British Columbia.
